Jimena was born in Bogota, Colombia in 1966. A member of a family where, play, imagination, love, and dreaming where allowed.
Received a degree in Fine Arts from The University Jorge Tadeo Lozano, where she learned to create and started to suspect the truth. She understood with many doubts and some ideas that art does not have formulas and that the only thing to do was to turn into an alchemist of life and knitter of emotions in order to continue painting.
Love and intuition brought her to live in New York where painting by painting created a new family, she remembered she had a first name, Libia, and learned to hear it as her own for the benefit of those that struggle trying to say Jimena. Learned to knit again in other places and to understand old feelings with new faces.
Painting for more than 20 years; performing multiple roles: mother, wife, counselor, sister, daughter, serious practitioner of Yoga, teacher of Spanish through art of young children, and a reader without limits. When life requires can become a traveler, an insatiable walker, unconditional friend, specialist in the nostalgic, and collector of the famous phrases of her daughter Gabriela.
With silence, and less complaining observing the world with an objective clarity of love, Jimena continues to learn and understand that everything is perfect, that the neighbor is not necessarily the one who lives next to you, and that life is in the breath.
